What can I gain from working with an advisor?Clarity. Do your investments, insurance, retirement and estate planning all feel like a hodge-podge? I will help you get all of that in order. Accountability. What if you had someone to help you determine goals, which ones are most important for you to work on now, and guidance on sticking with them? Expertise. Laws, regulations and fine print can make investments and insurance overwhelming. I will help you figure out what you need and what you don't. Simplicity. Finances can be confusing. A good advisor will simplify it for you.
-
Do you have an investment minimum?Yes, because I work primarily with those working towards or in retirement, with a high degree of detail and care, I do require a $250,000.00 investment minimum.
-
Are you a fiduciary?Yes. 100% of the time. "What is a fiduciary?" A fiduciary is someone who will place your interests ahead of their own. "Aren't all financial advisors fiduciaries?" No. In fact, fiduciaries are the minority. All other advisors operate by the "suitability standard", meaning that they can recommend something that isn't the best option for you just so they can earn a bigger commission.
-
How are you paid?I operate strictly on a commission-free basis, which allows me to simply use the best investment solutions that I can determine for you. I charge between .50% and 1.5% of your investment account's value per year, depending on the amount of your investable assets. That is paid directly from the performance of the account. I have a tentative investment minimum of $250k, which can be waived in certain circumstances. I am not the most expensive advisor, and you probably don't want the cheapest.
-
What is your investment philosophy?I build portfolios that are founded with academic research; not media hype. Then I help clients avoid costly mistakes along the way. I generally utilize highly diversified funds from two of the largest investment managers in the world; Vanguard and Dimensional.
-
Can you help me with insurance?Absolutely. I can help you determine what you need and what you don't need. Then, we can help you find life, disability and long-term care insurance, if necessary. We do not receive any commissions or compensation for the insurance we recommend or help you get.
-
Do you only work with clients in Sarasota or Bradenton? No. While I am located in Bradenton, Florida, I have grown by word-of-mouth to serve clients from here to Hawaii, and are equipped to conveniently meet with clients nationwide via Zoom.
-
Why don't you have an office? With technology allowing my clients and I to be connected nearly any time they want and anywhere they are, I cannot make sense of having a remote office.
-
Where do you meet clients?I meet with clients from across the country using Zoom, along with phone calls, email and text messaging.
